Spanish Chique
Project Goal: Transform the front yard into an inviting entertainment space with Spanish modern flair.
The main entrance features a dark grey concrete pathway in a diamond pattern, softened by dichondra plants. New poured-in-place entrance steps and a custom concrete bench with a round end add softness and whimsy to the garden. Functional elements like a compact BBQ area, a cozy firepit, and a bold red water feature enhance the space's usability and ambiance. Affectionately dubbed the "rainbow brick road," a broken brick patio filled with decomposed granite (DG), is the showstopper of the space adding visual intrigue and serving as a unique conversation piece.
Edible Elegance
Project Goal: Blend modern aesthetics with functional space.
A chef's dream, a vertical garden veggie wall flanked by reclaimed deck boards sits behind blue-teal Hestan BBQ. The large concrete patio accented with a striking blue strip, encircles a firepit and complements the op-of-the-line Hestan BBQ components housed in a custom masonry BBQ island. A quarter of the yard is dedicated to a stylish vegetable garden that boasts an an array of herbs and vegetables in a poured-in-place concrete bed, offering edible elegance.
HGTV Pilot Yard
Project Goal: Transform a vast, empty yard into a captivating outdoor entertainment oasis.
This design and build project harmonizes luxury with natural allure, featuring a large swimmable koi pond accessible from the master bedroom via a custom deck. The pond is surrounded by boulders, lush tropical vegetation, and a natural stone firepit, perfect for gatherings under the stars. A patio cover extends the living space, seamlessly integrating with the landscape and providing shade. Essential amenities, like a state-of-the-art BBQ and ample lounging areas, ensure comfort for gatherings of any size. For entertainment, an outdoor movie screen turns evenings into cinematic experiences. Top-of-the-line FX color-changing and dimming lights allow easy ambiance customization from your phone. The TifTuf turf lawn offers a drought-tolerant option, bordered by a concrete-edged decomposed granite path.
North Park Patio Retreat
Project Goal: Transform an unused, sloped front yard into a relaxing, private patio retreat.
Once an unused dirt yard, this space is now a welcoming outdoor retreat and a natural extension of the North Park cottage. A board-formed concrete retaining wall levels the sloped yard, while a horizontal wood-slat fence and layered screening plants provide privacy from the sidewalk and bring lush greenery into the space. A spacious brick patio offers plenty of room to sit, relax, and entertain. The custom-built BBQ and counter create an inviting setting for outdoor dining in San Diego’s beautiful climate. Fragrant roses, catmint, and jasmine—paired with the gentle sound of the fountain—complete the transformation into a private front-yard oasis.

Relaxing Napa Escape
Project Goal: Create an intimate retreat that captures the natural tranquility and modern elegance of Napa.
A pondless creek creates a soothing ambiance, reminiscent of Napa's countryside streams. The white flagstone patio invites relaxation with a custom cedar bench for comfort, while a vertical garden wall adds lush greenery to break up the fences. At the heart of the yard, a raised gravel patio surrounds a cozy firepit, perfect for gathering.
